1. Who we are

2. What we collect
If you subscribe to our email list
We collect the email address you submit, plus evidence that you consented:
- The date and time of your subscription
- The IP address the subscription came from
- Your browser's user-agent string
- Which page you subscribed from
We keep those consent records because anti-spam law requires us to be able to demonstrate that a subscriber opted in. We do not collect your name.
Our emails and texts carry educational content and paid promotional messages about publicly traded companies, which is part of how this site is funded. Paid messages are always identified as advertising and carry a Section 17(b) disclosure naming who paid and how much. We send them ourselves — your details are never given to the advertiser. See our disclosures.
If you opt in to text messages
After you subscribe by email we offer an optional second step: adding a mobile number for text updates. It is genuinely optional — skipping it changes nothing about your email subscription, and consent to texts is never a condition of anything on this site.
If you do opt in, we collect and store:
- The mobile number you enter, normalised to international format
- The date and time you consented, the IP address and the user-agent
- The exact wording of the consent you agreed to, stored verbatim alongside the record, plus a version identifier for that wording
We store the consent wording itself because a record that says only “consented” cannot show what was agreed to. If we ever change the wording, existing records keep the text those people actually saw.
Texts are sent by Stock Ships LLC, which operates StocksAce. Your number is not shared with, sold to, or used on behalf of any third party, and never passed to a company we write about. Reply STOP at any time to stop them; reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.
When you simply read the site
Our web server keeps standard access logs — IP address, timestamp, the URL requested, referring page, and user-agent. These are generated automatically by the hosting infrastructure, used for security and troubleshooting, and not used to build a profile of you.
When you use a calculator
Nothing. All four calculators are JavaScript running in your browser. The figures you enter are never transmitted to us, never stored, and disappear when you close the tab.
3. What we don't do
- We don't sell, rent or trade your email address.
- We don't share your address or number with public companies, investor-relations firms, or stock promoters — including ones that pay us to run a message.
- We don't text you unless you separately and explicitly opted in by ticking the consent box at step two — clicking through the form is not consent.
- We don't share or sell your phone number, ever.
- We don't let anyone else email or text you. Paid promotional messages come from us, under our name, labelled as advertising — we never hand your details to the advertiser.
- We don't use advertising trackers or retargeting pixels.
4. Cookies and third parties
StocksAce does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Two third-party interactions are worth knowing about:
- Google Fonts. Our pages load typefaces from Google's font servers, which means Google receives your IP address and user-agent as part of that request. This is a normal consequence of loading a web font from a CDN. If you'd prefer to avoid it, most browsers and content blockers can block third-party font requests; the site remains fully readable with fallback fonts.
- Email delivery. If you subscribe, your address is stored by us and may be passed to an email service provider that sends the newsletter on our behalf. That provider processes the address only to deliver our emails, and typically records whether a message was opened or a link clicked.
If we later add analytics, this section will be updated before it goes live, and the provider will be named here.
5. Why we're allowed to hold it
If you're in a jurisdiction with a lawful-basis requirement such as the UK or EU: we process your email address, and your phone number if you gave one, on the basis of your consent. You give it by submitting the form, and for texts by separately ticking the consent box. You can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing or replying STOP. Server logs are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating the site securely.
6. How long we keep it

7. Your choices
- Unsubscribe — every email carries a working unsubscribe link, and it takes effect immediately.
- Stop texts — reply STOP to any message. It takes effect immediately and does not affect your email subscription. Reply HELP for help.
- Access or delete — email editor@stocksace.com from the subscribed address and we'll tell you what we hold or delete it. No charge, and we don't require a reason.
- Correct — tell us and we'll fix it.
- Do not sell — we don't sell personal information, so there's nothing to opt out of. California residents have this right under the CCPA and it is satisfied by us simply not doing it.
8. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Subscriber records are stored on our hosting provider's infrastructure with access restricted to the people who operate the site. No system is perfectly secure, and we won't claim otherwise — which is part of why we deliberately collect as little as possible.
9. Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has subscribed, contact us and we'll remove the record.
10. International readers
We operate from the United States, and information you submit is processed there. If you are outside the US, submitting your details means accepting that transfer. Our text messaging covers US and Canadian mobile numbers only.
11. Changes
If this policy changes materially we'll update the date at the top and, where the change affects subscribers, say so in the newsletter. We won't apply a materially different use to data already collected without asking first.
