The short version

  • StocksAce.com is owned and operated by Stock Ships LLC. Ownership is public in the domain's WHOIS record.
  • We publish two different things. Editorial content — guides, tools, the glossary — is never paid for by anyone. Sponsored content is paid for by issuers or their agents.
  • Every sponsored item carries a Section 17(b) disclosure at the top of the item itself, naming who paid, how much, and in what form. If you don't see that box, nobody paid for what you're reading.
  • Sponsored content is advertising. It is one-sided by construction, it is not our opinion, and it is not a recommendation.
  • Nothing here is investment advice. We are not a registered investment adviser or broker-dealer.
  • Small-cap and micro-cap securities can lose all of their value.

1. Ownership

StocksAce.com is owned and operated by Stock Ships LLC. The domain registration is held in the company's name without privacy shielding, so the registrant is verifiable independently.

Stock Ships LLC operates other financial media properties. Currently publishing: Stock Ships (stockships.com), BuybackStocks (buybackstocks.com) and AceTicker (aceticker.com). Each is operated as an editorially independent publication. They do not coordinate coverage, and we do not place links between them for the purpose of influencing search rankings.

Stock Ships LLC additionally holds domains in this sector that are not currently publishing, including marketripper.com, tickerripper.com and stockriot.com. This list is updated if any of them launches.

Common ownership of multiple financial media properties is legal and common. We disclose it because readers are entitled to know it, and because failing to disclose it is the practice that has repeatedly drawn regulatory attention in this sector.

2. Compensation policy

StocksAce publishes two kinds of content, and the distinction between them is the most important thing on this page.

EditorialSponsored
What it isGuides, tools, the glossary, the newsletterPaid promotion of a specific company or security
Who pays for itNobody. Never for sale, at any priceAn issuer, or a party acting for one
How you can tellNo disclosure boxA red disclosure box at the very top
Whose opinion it isOursThe payer's. Not ours
Names a ticker?Only to illustrate a mechanismYes — that's what was paid for

Editorial content is never for sale

No payment of any kind buys coverage, inclusion, mention, or favourable treatment in our editorial content. That covers our guides, our calculators, the glossary, and the newsletter. It applies to payment in cash, securities, options, warrants, or anything else, and it applies whether the requested treatment is favourable, neutral or unfavourable.

Where a ticker appears in an editorial piece, it illustrates a mechanism — what a resale registration looks like, how warrant overhang shows up on a chart. It is never a recommendation and never paid placement.

StocksAce does accept paid advertising and sponsored content from public companies and from investor-relations firms, agencies and other parties acting on their behalf. We are telling you this plainly because the alternative — burying it — is what makes most small-cap media untrustworthy.

Standing rules for anything paid:

Section 17(b)

Section 17(b) of the Securities Act of 1933 makes it unlawful to publish a description of a security for consideration received from an issuer, underwriter or dealer without fully disclosing that consideration and its amount. Our disclosure format is built to satisfy this on its own terms rather than minimally: the box states who paid, the relationship, the amount, and the form.

Mechanically, the disclosure is generated from the record of the deal when the page is built. A sponsored page on this site cannot be published without a complete disclosure attached — it is not left to anyone to remember.

As of the date at the top of this page, no sponsored content has been published on StocksAce. This section describes the policy that will apply when it is.

3. Affiliated businesses

Stock Ships LLC and its principals have interests in other businesses in the financial-communications sector, including an investor-awareness business that receives compensation from public companies for services provided to those companies. That business may place sponsored content on StocksAce on behalf of its clients.

Where that happens, it is treated exactly like any other paid placement and receives no preferential handling:

Common ownership between a publisher and an awareness business is not unusual in this sector. What is unusual is saying so. If you believe you have seen anything on this site inconsistent with the above, tell us: editor@stocksace.com.

4. Not investment advice

StocksAce publishes general educational information about markets, trading mechanics, research methods and public disclosure documents. It is directed at a general audience and takes no account of any individual's financial situation, objectives, risk tolerance or tax position.

Nothing published on this site is:

Stock Ships LLC is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, or financial planner, and no member of its staff is acting as your fiduciary. Consult a qualified professional who knows your circumstances before making an investment decision.

5. Positions and holdings

6. Accuracy, data and limitations

We make a genuine effort to be accurate and to work from primary sources. We do not guarantee accuracy, and you should not rely on this site as your sole source for anything that matters.

Specific limitations worth knowing:

ItemLimitation
Rules and thresholdsExchange listing standards, FINRA rules and SEC requirements change. Descriptions are current as of the page's last-updated date and may not be current now.
Float figuresVendor estimates, not reported figures. Different vendors disagree materially.
Short interestReported twice monthly and published on a lag. Always historical.
Fundamental dataReflects the last filed period, which may be months old.
Illustrative figuresExamples, screening thresholds and funnel counts in our guides are illustrative starting points, not standards or recommendations.
Calculator outputsArithmetic performed on figures you supply. Not a valuation, forecast or guarantee.

Where we make a material error, we correct it on the page with a dated note rather than editing it away silently. Report errors to editor@stocksace.com.

7. No performance claims

We make no claims about investment results — ours, our readers', or anyone else's. We publish no track record, no model portfolio, and no hypothetical or back-tested performance figures. Past performance of any security or strategy does not indicate future results.

8. Third-party links and advertising

We may link to third-party sites — regulators, exchanges, data providers, news outlets. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices.

StocksAce accepts advertising. Two categories, handled differently:

As of the last-updated date of this page, the site carries no advertising, no sponsored content and no affiliate links. This section describes the policy that applies when it does.

9. Forward-looking statements

Content on this site may include forward-looking observations about markets, regulation or company behaviour. These are opinions about an uncertain future, not statements of fact, and they carry no guarantee. We undertake no obligation to update them.

10. Risk disclaimer

Investing in equities involves risk, including the loss of principal. Small-cap and micro-cap securities involve substantially greater risk than larger listed companies. Specific risks include, without limitation:

Never invest money you cannot afford to lose entirely.

11. Jurisdiction

This site is published from the United States and describes US markets, US exchanges and US securities regulation. It is not directed at residents of any jurisdiction where publication or availability would be contrary to local law. If you are outside the United States, the rules described here likely do not apply to you.
